Waterfire is set to take place in downtown Providence this weekend.

Save The Bay’s week-long BayCamp for children who have completed kindergarten and first grade promises hands-on, Bay-centric activities that are as much fun as they are educational.

ZooCamp: Conservation Heroes at Roger Williams Park Zoo

These Conservation Heroes are active all over the world, but also right here in our backyard! In this one-week camp at the Zoo, campers will be empowered to become leaders in conservation through teambuilding and leadership activities, engage in inquiry activities, games and projects; and visit animals exhibits, meet animal ambassadors, and explore the outdoors.

The event goes from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Roots at Bold Point Park 

The Grammy-award winning Hip-Hop group the Roots will be at Bold Point Park to kick off the month of July. 

The Roots have become one of the best known and most respected hip-hop acts in the business, winning four Grammys, including “Best R&B Album” for Wake Up!, “Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance” for “Hang in There” (with John Legend) and “Best Group or Duo R&B Vocal Performance” for “Shine.” The ensemble was most recently nominated for “Best Rap Album” for the 2011 release of undun. This brings the band’s GRAMMY nomination count to twelve.

The concert begins at 6 p.m.
